22-year old needs to run track-How do we get him started on the road to a career of running/sprinting track?
Past experience as a child-got away from it, and everything else. Needs direction in life, but never pursued extended education ---------runs like the wind! Fine physical health, but, "youth is wasted on the young" As a peer would like to know how to get him into track programs that don't require College attendance or College degrees, although open to these choices as well. Good natured-mannerable......So young and so talented. Amazing gait. Please help & thank you in advance.
He could join a running club or at least sign up for a race.
If you go to any local running store, you will find dedicated runners, runners looking for running partners and local clubs. Once he's involved, he could consider increasing his commitment or just enjoying it for what it is. Most races attract a lot of other race organizers, volunteer groups, running organizations and companies selling running equipment. He'll either find some friends there and pursue it or he won't; you can't make him do it.
Not sure what to do with "needs direction in life". But that's not the part about running, so I will leave it unanswered.
