A double stroller is great for transporting 2 babies or toddlers at the same time and you'll likely be considering purchasing one if you have children who are close in age. Finding an ideal stroller for one child can prove difficult enough but for two children it can be even harder due to the range of factors to consider.

The Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem II Stroller is designed to provide the ultimate in flexibility and versatility. Kolcraft have enhanced the design further over the Contours Options Stroller and packed in even more features but does it meet the needs of parents who want a stroller for multiple children. Range of Seating Options

The most noteworthy feature for me the Tandem II Stroller offers is the wide range of seating options. The seats can be arranged into 6 different seating positions for true flexibility. Your child can face you, they can face each other, they can both face the front and both ride back to back.

The seats can fully recline so your little ones can relax and sleep whilst your on the move. Another impressive feature is that when you only need to take 1 child with you, it can convert into a single stroller with plenty of storage space.

A car seat attachment is included which can accommodate most modern car seat brands such as Britax, Chicco and Baby Trend.

Safety and Comfort

As a responsible parent you want to make sure your child remains safe, secure and comfortable at all times. The Tandem II Stroller is packed with a number of safety and comfort features to keep your children safe and comfy.

An adjustable 5 pt safety harness is included with padded sleeves for extra comfort. The removable iPod Dock lets your children listen to music on the move whilst relaxing in their padded seats. Any mp3 player can be connected so you're not only limited to using an iPod.

One of the new features is the swivel cup holders which give your child easy access to refreshments. Parents also have their own tray/cup holder. It would have been nice if they included a snack tray for the kids but this isn't included.

The hold-on handles are perfect for when your older child wants to walk along the side of the stroller so you can keep them in close proximity to you.

Performance

On the move, the Tandem II Stroller is a joy to use especially considering the size of it. The rubber swivel front wheels provide easy steering and the rear never flat wheels help it glide along smoothly across any surfaces.

Folding down the stroller can be a little awkward but it gets easy once you get used to it. Also you need to remove at least one of the seats to fold it.

Protection from the Elements

Another new feature that Kolcraft have incorporated is an adjustable canopy which can be adjusted to accommodate your child's growing height, protecting them against inclement weather. Both seats feature full sized canopies which are attached by Velcro so both your little ones remain equally protected.

Storage

A large storage basket provides ample room to fit plenty of gear and is easily accessible. In addition to the child cup holders, the storage provided is plentiful.

Final Thoughts

Finding faults with this stroller is difficult. On the negative side, the lack of a child snack tray is a little disappointing and the seats are a bit short so for older children they aren't quite big enough to sleep in comfort due to the low seat back.

Overall the Kolcraft Contours Tandem II Stroller is a wonderful choice for the larger family. Highly versatile, attractive design and crammed with safety and comfort features without sacrificing performance.
