What Is the Price or Cost of a LASIK Eye Surgery?
As far as the cost is concerned, prices for most LASIK surgeries has remained stable for 2010 and in some cases, even fallen slightly since 2009. According to a recently released market analysis of LASIK prices, the average cost of the surgery in the U.S., for the first quarter of 2010, was roughly $2,150 per eye. The estimate takes into consideration all the different types of LASIK surgery and their related technologies. The average price for the entire 2009 year was pegged at $2,357.
There continue to be surgeons all across the country offering "discount" LASIK procedures for as little as several hundred dollars per eye. Unfortunately, those bargain basement prices only apply to a small handful of patients with a specific corrective need. Even with the industry's stiff competition and discounted pricing options, very few LASIK eye procedures can be performed for less than $1,000 per eye.
LASIK eye surgery tends to be significantly less expensive in Canada, prompting many Americans to go north of the border to cities like Toronto and Vancouver to have the procedure performed. Choosing to take what's called a "medical vacation", patients will travel to Canada for a week for two of sightseeing, before having surgery and then returning home for recovery. The practice is also quickly spreading to Central and South American countries as well.
There is some debate among industry experts as to why the cost of LASIK surgery has remained stable, in contrast to most other medical procedures which continue to see increases year after year. One possible explanation is the fact that many insurance companies will not cover the full cost of LASIK; and that's if they cover any part of it at all. Forcing the consumer to pay for the procedure out of pocket tends to cause them to shop around for the best possible. The results of such shopping, combined with the cash payment given to doctors, results in very slow price increases.

Have a question about cavities?
Dentist found two cavities, but they didn't see them on the x-rays they took. The dentist was wearing some special eye glasses and found them. She was surprised to find them and stated it was part of the "enamel" and it will be a restorative procedure (fillings). I guess it will take about 1.5 hours to complete.
Are you able to elaborate on what this is All About? I'm kinda confused and mad this has happened because i haven't changed my teeth cleaning habits. I'm in my mid 30's and these are my first cavaties.

You can get a cavity on the top of your tooth (the occlusal surface). It may be stain, and with the loops that they wear, can see more and with the explorer (sharp dental instrument) can feel the caries (decay). It may have been there for a long time and just got to a point where it is obvious and needs to be fixed.
