Isn't technology great. Do you type? Do you do research. Has your child said why, and you've gone straight online to research. Have you been invited by an electronic invite, or maybe thats how you check up on play dates with your child's playmates? I certainly have. The computer contains our master schedule, our reminders, even if we forget whats going on, all I do is go online and search emails. My doctor has told me that my migraines are caused by the pulling on muscles as I hunch over my computer. I first tried neck massage skeptically, but found it such a relaxing way to relieve my aches and pains. As I didn't have a doctor recommendation, I just went to my local massage spa and had a consultation. I clicked with someone, and she became my massage therapist.
Massage is the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue. This is done to enhance function and promote relaxation and well-being. If you are looking to modern medicine to cure your issues, maybe you are looking in the wrong place. The art of massage dates way back, back to over 3000 years. It has been documented by the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians. They all applied forms of massage for many ailments. Hippocrates even wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Neck massage is not an ancient cure, but a modern cure based on ancient methods.
So, back to my first neck massage. My masseuse was wonderful. She owned her own equipment and was very proud of the fact she had worked so hard to earn money to pay for it. I sat in her chair facing the back and she alternately massaged my shoulders back and forth for about a minute. She then squeezed my neck muscles as I just relaxed. I then shrugged my shoulders slowly and then she rubbed my neck from base to the skull. This short massage took about 10 minutes as it was only a neck massage. Had I gone in for a combination massage, it would have taken longer.
So, how do you find a massage therapist that can work on your aching neck? Well, as with everything, there are qualifications, and there are genuine qualifications. You can ask your doctor to refer you to one he/she works with, this may even be covered by insurance. There are so many types of massage, and it is done in a variety of ways with a variety of ancient remedies.
There are many ways of having a massage done. There are also many types of oils, seeds etc that can be used. A person receiving a massage may be on a mat, chair, or table, usually without clothes, but covered with towels or sheets. If one is uncomfortable with this, he/she may wear underwear. When having a neck massage, you don't have to worry about being nude! If your doctor doesn't refer, just look online, or go to your local spa.

How do I wave my hair?
I have short layered straight hair with a very slight wave when its close to my neck. I'm having a vow renewal ceremony with my husband in June and I'd like to have a pretty relaxed romantic look. I'd rather not bother with curlers.
What I want is to achieve this look...

with a curling iron but I have no idea what size barrel will do it. Yes, I know its going to take alot of work with a curling iron but I honestly don't know how to use curlers properly so they'll stay in my hair and my hair is so thick its going to require dozens of curlers that I'd rather not buy. The curling iron is just easier for me to use.
Can you help?
What size barrel do I need for soft romantic waves that don't start at the middle of my hair and down. I have no idea why some women seem to think curls should start at the neck.

its a good thing you have a wave to your hair. still use gel (not too strong of a gel though)when drying it and then use a 1inch barrel curling iron. take smaller pieces so that way the curls will stay closer to the head. it will look great being that you have thick hair.
i would try to do your hair with a 1 inch barrel and if you think thats not small enough go down to a 1/2 inch barrel. i really think the 1 inch should be fine-the 1/2 inch might be too tight of a curl.
its a good thing that you are better with a curling iron-if you would have used rollers, you wouldnt get the look like it is in the picture. that was definitely done by curling iron.
after doing your hair-spray it with a soft aerosol hairspray-then flip it a little-dont run your fingers through it. i do my hair like this all the time-running your fingers through it will definitely make it fuzzy.
then just spray again to make sure it will hold and you should be fine.
