Tired Of Trying Various Dry Skin Treatments? Know What Works And What Doesn’t
The market today is flooded with numerous dry skin treatments. But tell me, have you been successful in finding the best one for yourself yet? If not, then you have come to the right place.
Let me share some information about the treatment that I choose over the various dry skin treatments available today. A brief background first.
Dry skin is a condition caused due to the lowered production of our natural skin oil called sebum. Now, there are various reasons which can reduce the level of skin’s natural moisture.
One of the major causes is the chemical driven dry skin treatments. This category mainly comprises of – one, skin care creams containing harsh chemicals and two, harsh soaps cleansers.
Many of us are actually attracted by the cheap price at which these creams are available. I am not saying that a product which is expensive may necessarily be effective, my point is that there are some creams which contain cheap harmful ingredients – added only to meet the cost expectations.
These chemicals like Minerals oils and Parabens are inexpensive and are used primarily as a preservative. They help in increasing the shelf life of the product as well as bringing the cost down - so that more and more people get lured to it.
These chemicals have a load of side effects; and dry sensitive skin is just one of them. The treatments involving the use of such creams actually harm the skin instead of doing any good to it. So better steer clear from such products.
Then there are harsh soaps and cleansers which strip off all essential oils from the skin making it even drier. They too should be strictly avoided.
The best dry skin treatments would involve the use of natural skin care creams and lotions – the ones which have effective natural ingredients. A few of these much-sought-for natural substances are:
1. Jojoba Oil - this is a natural wax extract from the seed of Jojoba plant. Apart from being an excellent moisturizer and emollient, it has amazing healing properties too. Thus it helps in rejuvenating the damaged skin and making it healthy again.
2. Shea Butter - this is a natural fat extracted from Shea tree. It provides a soothing effect when applied on skin inflammation; protects the skin against harmful UV radiations coming from the Sun; and moisturizes it from within.
3. Manuka Honey - this is a natural honey extracted from Manuka bush. This honey has the property of penetrating deep into the skin and nourishing it from within. It also helps in removing fine lines and wrinkles.
