Taking Vitamins? Do You Make These 3 Common Mistakes?

Lack of vitamins and minerals may be the reason for the causes of minor health problems and ailments.

Severe deficiencies can be dangerous, but even a small absence of vitamins and minerals may leave you ‘under the weather'.

The government sets a ‘routine daily allowance' (RDA) which our bodies need so that it can carry out its normal daily functions.

Whilst not everyone is the same, the government felt it necessary to recommend and encourage us to get the minimum levels required.

Most of us will get our RDA from  eating a varied diet of food. However, in some instances, the amount of food we would need to eat to reach that level may be too much. Therefore, taking supplements may be what is required.

Also, the body gets rid of waste food naturally and if it has not absorbed the necessary amount of vitamins and minerals needed then supplements are inevitably required.

Vitamin A: is good for dry skin and is often added to skin creams

Vitamin B: helps concentration and can help ease long term depression

Vitamin C: not only helps prevent colds but can help against bad breath, heal bruising and can prevent urinary tract infections.

Vitamin D: a deficiency of this vitamin is believed to be linked with such problems as multiple sclerosis, heart disease, brittle bones, colon and prostate cancer

Magnesium: good for muscle cramps and insomnia

Zinc: essential for all hormone related health.

So, what mistakes do we make when taking our supplements? Well if not taken correctly then we will have wasted our time and our money. It is important to read the instructions on each pack.

Below are 3 common mistakes -

1. Vitamin and mineral supplements should be taken within 20 minutes of eating. If taken on an empty stomach then indigestion or sickness can occur

2. If taken with coffee or tea this may affect absorption. Much better to take with water, orange juice or milk depending on the supplement.

3. If the vitamins are ‘fat soluble' they should be taken with food that contains fat e.g. cheese or milk.

is petroleum cream with vitamin E good to use on tattoos?

I just recently got a tattoo on my neck 5 days ago, and the for the first 2 days i used Auaphor but then i started using petroleum cream with vitamin E and i used alot on it because i go to school and i wanted it to last throughout the school day. Now for some rason my tattoo looks grey instead of black(the orginal color). Did the cream fade it?

I used A&D on my first tattoo & it sorta faded, so i used unscented lotion on my second tattoo and it peeled perfectly. THe cream may have faded it, so try usinq an unscented lotion.
