How long before I workout should I eat a power bar?
I don't care if you think Power Bars are effective, so save any comments. I just need an idea of how much time the Powerbar needs to be in my system for optimal effect. Thanks.
2-3 hours is recommended, but you should experiment and see what gives you the greatest boost. For me, I eat one some days about 1.5 hours before a heavy workout. I also eat one after some long workouts (like 2-3 hours or more) to help quickly replenish my proteins and carbs.
Some articles say not to eat energy bars before a workout because they generally have high amounts of protein and fiber which don't break down quickly enough, so for a pre-workout bar look for one with a lot of carbs.
